Dermal Fillers

From the many different fillers currently available, we have carefully selected to use Juvéderm® and Restylane®. Both contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that binds with the water in your skin and, almost like a supercharged moisturiser, lifts and makes it firmer.

This is an outpatient procedure. It is helpful if you wear no make-up or foundation on the day of treatment. This makes it much easier to cleanse and sterilise the skin prior to the injection.

The Juvéderm® or Restylane® are very carefully and accurately injected through a very fine syringe needle. During the injection, we slightly over-correct the area to allow for initial shrinkage. Within hours, the tiny pinprick wound is barely noticeable.

Occasionally there may be swelling, redness and or tenderness. These symptoms will usually settle within a day or two – very rarely, they may last for up to two weeks.

The results are instant and the Treatments can be repeated indefinitely as they are required.

Because these fillers are made of a naturally occurring substance, an allergic reaction is very rare. As with any injection, there is a small risk of infection which could lead to scarring of the skin. This theoretical risk is minimised by careful preparatory cleansing with antiseptic swabs. Repeated injections over years may result in a few fine broken veins in the area.
